What are Printables?
Printables are printable templates for "do it yourself" 3D models.. Printables already have graphics, so all you have to do is print, cut, fold, and tape.
Printables can be a wide range of stationary or paper items, including:
Stickers, Invitations, Cupcake Toppers, Letters and Envelopes, Gift Tags, labels, paper dolls and other toys, Party Decor, and gift boxes!
Recommended Supplies:
- Cardstock (I prefer 65 or 67 lb, its strong enough to hold but light enough to fold easily. This weight of paper is sometimes called cover stock.
- Tape (Double sided if you can)
- Good Scissors (I got these Cutter Bee Precision-Cut Scissors
as a gift years ago and have never gone back to another pair for paper crafting)
The vast majority of printables are PDF's, so you can use them from any computer.
While the list of all the different types of printables is above, I happen to favor three types:
- Gift Boxes
- I love these for gift wrapping gift cards, jewelry, and other small items. Saves on storage because there's no need to keep all those little boxes and gift paper scraps around.
- Toys
- Yes, these get destroyed, but they aren't meant to last forever and that's the point. The kids love them, they are great for unexpected child guests or keeping them busy in the car or at a table for an hour! For older children, search "free printable board games" to keep them entertained.
- & Party Supplies
- Party Decor printables have really saved me $ from my "Let's go drop 50 bucks at Party City" Bad Habit. To make good quality party decorations, I estimate I'll be spending about $10 on good paper and ink for printables for an entire party .
